Ball Cross Polished Stainless Steel for 2" dia. Tubing (40-706/2)
Our ball fittings are used to construct handrails, footrails, stair rails, bar rails, ballet rails, and many other metal railing systems. The vertical posts of the railings should be made with a continuous architectural metal tube (for strength) while the horizontals are cut and fit with architectural hardware between posts. Ball fittings may be available in a variety of finishes not usually found in traditional brass fitting, including stainless steel, and more.

The Ball Cross gives a four-way intersection a finished, architectural appearance: four 2" OD tubes meet at right angles in one flat plane around a decorative center ball. It provides a clean junction for a rail grid or a mid-run crossing. In polished brass, polished 304 stainless, or satin 304 stainless.
Description
Where four rails meet in the same plane — a straight run crossed by a branch on each side — the Ball Cross ties all four together at one point. Four 2" OD tube ends seat into a single cast fitting with a decorative ball at the center, giving a flat four-way junction for a rail grid, a partition infill, or a crossed guard rail. Because the tube ends hide inside the ball, you cut the four straight pieces and let the fitting set the right angles — no fussy corner measurements. Choose polished brass, polished 304 stainless, or satin 304 stainless to match the run, and pair it with the matching elbows and tees in the same 2" ball line.
