Ball Ell Brass for 1" dia. Tubing (00-702/1)
Our ball fittings are used to construct handrails, footrails, stair rails, bar rails, ballet rails, and many other metal railing systems. The vertical posts of the railings should be made with a continuous architectural metal tube (for strength) while the horizontals are cut and fit with architectural hardware between posts. Ball fittings may be available in a variety of finishes not usually found in traditional brass fitting, including stainless steel, and more.
All ball fittings are supplied with self-drilling, self-tapping hardware.

A traditional corner detail for brass railing: the 90° Ball El turns a 1" OD handrail with the decorative ball cast into the joint. Both tube ends seat inside the ball, so neither requires an exact cut — the fitting conceals the tolerance. Finished in polished brass for small-diameter traditional rails.
Description
Make a clean 90° turn in a 1" OD round brass rail without welding a corner. The Ball El joins two tube ends inside one cast fitting with a decorative ball at the joint — the finished look you want wherever a rail changes direction: the top of a staircase, the corner of a landing, or a deck or balcony rail. The tube ends seat inside the ball, so you cut the straight runs and let the fitting hold the corner — no exact corner measuring. Cast in polished brass for a warm, traditional rail or a brass restoration, it pairs with the matching tees, elbows, and single-outlet fittings in the same 1" ball line so a whole run goes together from one family of parts.
