Loctite 7649 Metal Primer
Activator 7649 is used in conjunction with LIDO-Weld Adhesive for stainless steel components. Activator 7649 is sprayed or brused on the metal as a primer to speed the curing time of the Adhesive, reducing the set-time to mere minutes during installation.
Activator is not neccessary with brass products.

Loctite 7649 metal primer prepares the surface so the adhesive can do its work. Applied before Loctite 326, this solvent-based activator promotes a fast, complete cure on metal railing components, including less reactive surfaces such as stainless steel and plated finishes that adhesives struggle to grip alone.
Description
Strong bonded joints begin before any adhesive touches the parts. Loctite 7649 (SKU 00211) is a solvent-based primer and activator that conditions metal surfaces ahead of Loctite 326 adhesive, giving the bond the reactive surface it needs to cure quickly and completely. It matters most on less reactive metals, stainless steel and plated finishes among them, where an unprimed bond can cure slowly or unevenly. Wiped onto the joint area and allowed to flash off, the primer helps railing flanges and fittings reach dependable full strength, protecting the integrity of every assembled connection.
