For unusual substrates or concealed-fastener layouts, the base plate on this brass saddle post ships without holes, so the pattern is drilled on site to match the conditions. The pre-assembled saddle cradle carries 1.5-inch OD brass handrail, the same as the drilled version. Cast in polished brass to match the rest of the brass rail hardware.
Description
This Undrilled Saddle Post mounts a 1.5-inch OD brass handrail the same way as the drilled version, cradling the round tube in a saddle on top, but its base plate ships with no pre-drilled holes. That opens two options. First, drill on site to match a non-standard hole pattern, useful for a brass handrail restoration that has to line up with original mounting points or for an unusual building substrate. Second, keep the plate clean-faced and conceal the fasteners under the base for a tidier look. Same one-piece pre-assembled polished brass saddle construction as the drilled 341-1H, just with the base plate left blank so you control the mounting. It's the simpler pre-assembled alternative to the modular undrilled saddle post.
